Ximpo Group to provide Interoperability test tracking system to IMTC
Innovative system used to track 3G wireless streaming solutions
Modiin, ISRAEL -- November 1st, 2002 --
Ximpo Group, Ltd., today announced that it started providing IOTzilla, the
interoperability test tracking service, to IMTC's Packet-Switched-Streaming
Activity Group (IMTC PSS-AG).
"At the end of the first test cycle in March 2002, it was becoming
extremely difficult to manage 9 vendors and track hundreds of tests,"
said Pablo 'merKur' Kohan, CTO of Ximpo Group, and then member of the
PSS Activity Group Steering, "With 14 vendors planned for the second
cycle, it was an almost impossible task. It became clear we needed a new kind
of solution."
This is where Ximpo founders, Dotan Shavit and Pablo 'merKur'
Kohan, enter the picture.
Then members of the activity group, and after having served as test results'
coordinators in a previous interoperability group, they recognized and
understood the needs, and volunteered to start development of a tool to answer
these.
IOTzilla is their system for planning and tracking of interop testing
results.
Finding its roots, and sharing part of the philosophy of the Bugzilla (http://www.bugzilla.org/)
Open-source bug tracking system, IOTzilla has been enhanced to match the
specific needs of committees or consortia performing interoperability
testing. The system is accessed through a secured internet channel and
provides a friendly user interface and graphic reports.
Having seen the amazing improvement achieved by IOTzilla, and feeling the
enthusiasm of the group, it didn't take long until they formed Ximpo Group to
continue development and provide top-class support for IOTzilla.
"We are excited about the opportunity to provide IMTC PSS-AG with
IOTzilla's services," said Dotan Shavit, VP Services of Ximpo.
"and expect to be able to improve the already proven advantages of
IOTzilla to the group, in terms of testing management and tracking
procedures."
